Day 4: Killeen ISD – July 2011

Today has been a day filled with a lot of emotions and I hope that you have been able to see how videoconferencing can impact learning in the classroom.

1. How will you share videoconferencing with others? What would you tell them about it?

2. What have you noticed about interactions among workshop facilitators? among participants in your room? in your small group?

  1. Today has been a day filled with a lot of emotions and I hope that you have been able to see how videoconferencing can impact learning in the classroom.

    1. How will you share videoconferencing with others? What would you tell them about it? I would describe videoconferencing as an opportunity to bring together a variety of lessons.

    2. What have you noticed about interactions among workshop facilitators? among participants in your room? in your small group?
I’ve noticed that interaction is friendly and cooperative.

    • Luc,
I too agree that videoconferencing can help with bringing a variety of lessons together but I also think it gives the students opportunities they may not experience other wise without VCing. I also want to say it has been a pleasure having you this week in the training and you have kept me smiling, KHS is blessed to have such a great Drama teacher on their campus. Thanks for sharing your great ideas with us this week.

  2. 1. I think the best way is to have others come and see what I do so that they will get excited about this as a teaching medium.

    2. Well, I can’t comment a whole lot about the facilitator interactions except our facilitator laughs a lot at the comments. Well, our participants are pretty cool – very diverse and we all get along in our own way. Small group rocks!!

    • Paula,
I think getting others as excited at VCing as we are is sometimes a challenge. The biggest problem is not really understanding what it is and how to integrate it into what is being taught in the classroom. Thank you for sharing some great ideas this week and I’m glad you had this opportunity to attend again this year.

  3. 1. How will you share videoconferencing with others? What would you tell them about it?
I am going to have my grade level share the experience with me a few times as I host events on my campus.
I will tell them that it will enrich learning, experiences and provide for extra field trips.

    2. What have you noticed about interactions among workshop facilitators? among participants in your room? in your small group?

Facilitators – experts and are very relaxed with VCing
Participants – passionate about what they and and sharing
    Small Group – interesting…yet informative

    • Patricia,
That you for attending this training and I’m glad to see that you have enjoyed it and are able to take these ideas back to your campus. Let me know if I can help in any way!

  4. 1. How will you share videoconferencing with others? What would you tell them about it? I would share info thru facebook and ISD website. VC is a revolutionary way to teach students and a way for them to meet others outside their state or country.

    2. What have you noticed about interactions among workshop facilitators? among participants in your room? in your small group? The facilitators are extremely patient and display a vast knowledge of VC. Participants in our room were hand there heads buried int their computers, which i am sure was able to be seen by presenters. In our small group, had many ideas wanting to be shared. I think we would have wanted to have more time.

    • Andera,
I’m glad that you have enjoyed this week and I have to say I have enjoyed this group tremendously.
