Can you believe the week of Jazz is almost over? I am sure many of you thought, “How are we going to spend a week talking about videoconferencing?”, and we have hardly touched the surface of all the wonderful ways to incorporate videoconferencing in your curriculum!
For today’s reflection, consider your small group work writing your lesson, the ASK session from this morning, and the sessions with LEARNnco and Shane Howard this afternoon.
These questions can guide your reflection:
How will you share videoconferencing with others? What would you tell them about it?
What ideas do you want to implement in your curriculum?
What have you noticed about interactions among workshop facilitators? among participants in your room? in your small group?
See you tomorrow for our last day of Jazz!
Amy

I will try to share videoconferencing with my fellow teachers. It is amazing how some are so receptive and others do not want to be involved. I am also hoping to use the video conf. for meetings about RTI between 2 school systems here in CNY.
I am glad we have the facilitators here, but am also glad that they know when to hold back and let us try things on our own so that we learn to function by ourselves. (Thanks Amy!)

Jane,
Let me know if there is anything I can help with for your RTI meetings!
I have found that people feel more comfortable when they get to try new things! Glad you are learning lots!

Charles:
1. How will you share videoconferencing with others?
I will have them sit in on a session with me.
2. What would you tell them about it?
It’s a novel way to interact with students and give them an audience.
3. What ideas do you want to implement in your curriculum?
I want students to increase their critical thinking, whether they demonstrate that ability through writing or orally presenting.
4. What have you noticed about interactions among workshop facilitators? among participants in your room? in your small group? Everything is well organized within facilitators. Good to know they enjoy the behind the scenes discussion on Skype. Small group is going well, very comfortable to work with each other, easy going and productive.

I think it will be very essential to share the positive experiences of this week with my colleagues k-12. Like anything, it needs to be shared slowly because change is often difficult for people. However, I will have no problem finding examples and resources to share. Our facilitators seem to enjoy what they’re doing to enhance our teaching. Our small group has had oodles of fun getting to know each other and contributing to out project, as has our class as a whole. An incredibly worthwhile week of learning. Thanks, Amy!

Pam,
You are right, I do enjoy what I am doing and think that the more videoconferences that you participate in, the more comfortable you will become! I am glad you have found this week to be worthwhile and a great learning experience!

I think once other teachers see the value and fun in video conferencing they will all want part of it. The project Linda and I are working on is a simple lesson that I could work on with any other art teacher or educator. Things run smoother every day.
The speakers from Ask were wonderful and heart warming. I learned so much.
One last thing-Thank you Scott!

Terry,
The more you videoconference, the smoother it will get! There are so many opportunities for art and videoconferencing!
