“Lights, Cameras, Action”
I choose these two articles because they gave direct examples of how videoconferencing is used in schools. It was interesting because one article reported how kindergarten students are linked to another kindergarten class to report the weather in their area. This was an ongoing activity throughout the year that the teacher said was very worthwhile. What an awesome experience for the young students! The other article talked about a project for high school students to have their animation work evaluated by the experts. These students also have the opportunity to evaluate student work from the middle school. This feedback is very important in improving their work, and possibly letting them know if this is something they could make a career of. I feel the lessons themselves are good, but the chance to particiapate in videoconferencing makes it a much more valuable lesson. It provides an opportunity that they would not normally get, and exposes them to technology intergration which is so important today.
